April - 23. April / Price 1520 Euro Upper Mustang Kindom with Lhaka (English speaking Guide): This is, arguably, the most popular and fascinating trekking in Nepal. The Government of Nepal opened up this area to trekkers only in October 1991, and with strict controls concerning the special permits required for this region. The strictness is enforced to protect local traditions as well as the environment of this region. The Government of Nepal has a fixed quota of trekking permits issued every year for this trekking route. T his region formerly belonged to Tibet and the area remains are strongly influenced by Tibetan culture. The trek to Lo Manthang has many different attractions. This route is a starting, almost treeless barren landscape, with steep rocky trails up and down inclines. The eye-catching panoramic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Nilgiri and many other beautiful peaks ensure that this trek will remain a lifelong memory .Bookings are open / confirmed Budget Trip April 19 - Mai 4; 2008 / Prize 890 Euro / 1260 $ First trip of the season with Roger, Budget via Kodari: The early trip in the year is one of my favorite, it is because the nature in the holy region is very untouched with almost no people, moreover Lake Manasarovar is fully or partially frozen during this time and there will also be snow along the Drolma La Pass. It is a journey for people who like the pure and deserted nature on such powerful place. During the trip, one gets the chance to see the amazing beauty of the scenery that one can imagine and during this season it will be quite cold with some snow.

This festival is not well known, which ensures that there will not be many tourists. Over the four days one has the chance to see the vivid way Tibetan pilgrims join the fire puja, Lama dances, Sand Mandala puja and finally the unrolling of the giant silk thanka. This is the oldest scroll painting in Tibet, dating back 480 years and measuring approximately 40 x 60 m. Indeed I consider this one of the most genuine festivals in Tibet, where one has the chance to get to know Tibetan pilgrims and sense the relaxed way they participate in Tibetan Buddhism and folklore. detailed description by separate mail on request. Bookings are open / confirmed more information Budget Trip ***Extensive trip June 02 - June 20; 2008 / 890 Euro Saga Dawa Festival 2008 is a special year in Tibetan Buddhism, when pilgrimage is particularly meritorious. During the period of the Saga Dawa month, one circumambulation of the mountain is popularly considered to have the merit of a 100 thousand times on top of that to be purifying one life time. At time for the full moon of Saga Dawa ( Buddha's day of enlightenment and paranirvana ) more pilgrims than usual visit Kailash. In Tarpochen, at the foot of the holy mountain, there will be a big Buddhist festival. Tarpochen represents the navel of the world and every year Tibetans erect here a giant pole while many other ceremonies and rituals are carried out. This is certainly the most important day for Tibetan pilgrims at Mt. Kailash. You will have more time than usual at Lake Manasarovar so that it is possible to do this kora as well and finally you can extend a visit of Lhasa if you like. September 17, - October 7; 2008: / Price 2700 Euro / 3910 $ Simikot - The Ancient Pilgrim Route with Markus: For more than a thousand years, yogis and pilgrims have used this route across the Himalayas . After two domestic flights inside Nepal , our propeller plane lands in Simikot at 2,950 meters altitude. After that, the six-day trek takes us along the Karnali river to the Tibetan border. A particular attraction of this route is to walk afoot from one country into the other. Along the way, Nepal 's lush green vegetation slowly changes and becomes the meagre high desert of Tibet . We encounter simple Nepalese farming life .... The trek is wonderful and diverse, yet also very demanding. It requires good fitness and endurance. Western Tibet From the Nepalese-Tibetan border we drive to the holy springs of Tirthapuri on the banks of the Sutlej river. ... we drive to Guge, the former site of the ancient kingdom during the 9 th and 10 th century, world-famous for its beautiful murals and spectacular location amidst impressive scenery. Then follows the core of this journey, an unhurried four-day circuit trek (kora) among Tibetan pilgrims around holy Mt. Kailash followed by a rest day at beautiful Lake Manasarovar . The cherry on top of this tour is a visit of the Mount Everest Base Camp (EBC)! Detailed description by separate mail on request. September 18, - October 5; 2008: / Price 1820 Euro "only mountains" with Roger as your guide; visit of Mt Kailash - Gurla Mandata and Everest base camp: We will circumbulate the most important mountain (Kailash: 6714m ) and visit the highest ( Everest 8850m) and in between we will rest at the foot of the Power mountain ( Gurla Mandata 7728m). At the center of this journey are the mountains and nature, so while walking and just being we can feel the strength of the Himalayas in silence. With this in mind, within the group companionship and friendliness are of great importance. September is a very good time, when we can expect cloudless blue skies. We plan to see the mountains from the best side in very clear light. After a slow Kailash kora/trekking (four days) we will have a rest day beside Lake Manasarovar at the foot of Gurla Mandata . On our way back we will travel to Rombuk and from there by horse cart to EBC (Everest Base Camp). Detailed description by separate mail on request.
